The Role
TORQ is a leading software development firm that has specialized in developing solutions for Northern and Indigenous Government organizations since 2015. We are looking for a software development team lead to join our Northern Software Systems division. You will be responsible for leading a team of developers and overseeing the full lifecycle of software development projects for various Northern and Indigenous government clients across Canada. You will work closely with clients, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the solutions we deliver meet the needs and expectations of our clients and adhere to best practices and standards.
Responsibilities

Client Management: Meet with clients regularly to ensure that technical solutions are meeting client expectations. Maintain relationships with clients serving as their primary regular contact with TORQ. Gain awareness of other initiatives TORQ can support clients with.

Technical Architecture: Collaborate with other leads and architects to design robust solutions that meet client requirements and technical standards. Understand infrastructure, integration and data security.

Project Management: Ensure projects are staying on time and budget. Project budgets will range from $30K-$250K.

Mentoring: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to juniors, and collaborate between teams to share learning.

Software Development: You must have experience developing requirements, reviewing code, and have a fundamental understanding of web development. You must be willing to participate actively in the development process.
Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in delivering software applications

3+ years of experience leading development projects or teams
Skills

Experience managing client expectations and deadlines

Strong verbal and written communication skills, to communicate effectively with teammates, technical clients, and non-technical stakeholders

Experience working with sensitive data

Experience and understanding of Project Management and Business Analysis

Have in your career worked as a software developer on web or intranet applications
